• IN SHORT, WHAT'S OUR STORY?

The title of our story is "Inventing For Life". And central to that story are the incredible people we employ, the valued partners we embrace, and ultimately the patients whose lives we positively impact by making them healthier and happier.

Our people, are our greatest asset - whether creating medicines to address the world's most urgent health challenges, developing technology-based healthcare solutions, or ensuring a steady supply of essential vaccines, they all embrace the spirit of invention... relentlessly seeking innovative, novel and intelligent ways to help ensure those healthier, happier lives for patients across the UK.

We create powerful partnerships because we know we can change the world, but we know we can't do it alone. Our much valued collaborations with the NHS, leading universities, cutting-edge research bodies and non-profit organistations are intended to invent ways to transform healthcare in the UK and around the world.

We do it all for patients, their families, their friends, their loved ones - their lives. For us, vaccines and medicines are the greatest of inventions... the power they have to save, improve and extend the lives of individuals is immeasurable.

That's why we're ALL about "Inventing For Life".

OVER 80 YEARS IN THE UK

Our presence in the UK goes back a long way. For over 80 years, we have been inventing for life researching, developing, and supplying new medicines and vaccines that prevent and treat diseases that occur at every stage of life. We have 6 sites across the UK and plans are also underway to open a new state of the art discovery research centre and HQ in London.

EIGHT MEDICINES DEVELOPED IN THE UK

Eight of our medicines were developed here and twelve are manufactured in the North East.

40 HOURS OF PAID VOLUNTEERING EACH YEAR

Many of our team want to help their communities very directly so we ensure they can - our employees are entitled to 40 hours of paid volunteering each year.

IN THE UK LAST YEAR WE PROTECTED OVER 2 MILLION PEOPLE WITH OUR VACCINES

Our scientists developed some of the first medicines to treat hypertension, HIV and hepatitis C and we developed the first ever vaccine to help prevent HPV related cancers (now used in 130 countries). In the UK alone, last year we protected over 2 million people through our vaccines.
