GRANTS & DONATIONS

At MSD we have a long history of working with and supporting patient organisations and healthcare organisations to enable people to make informed choices about their health. It’s one of the most important things we do – and we’re proud of it.

MSD UK Grants Programme

At MSD, we are proud of our continued commitment to supporting healthcare and patient organisations to deliver innovative projects which tackle health inequalities, drive improvements in patient outcomes, and support the elimination of public health threats.

As part of our contribution, we are pleased to offer our MSD UK Grants Programme and the MMR & Routine Childhood Vaccination Grant Programme.

Our grants programmes offer arm's lengths financial grants to eligible organisations, to support a range of projects including educational initiatives, support for local communities and projects which advocate for patient's needs across the UK. Without our support, these organisations might not have been able to get these innovative projects off the ground.

MSD UK Grants Programme

The MSD UK 2024 Grants Programme application window is now closed.

The first application window of the 2024 MSD Grants Programme has closed. Open from March 1st until 30th April 2024, the first application window invited applications from healthcare and patient organisations who are looking for financial support to deliver innovative projects which tackle health inequalities. Applications which are focused on promoting community health and wellbeing, and enabled healthcare professional, patient, and public empowerment were eligible to apply.

Applications are now being rigorously reviewed by the grants and donations committee for their alignment to the goals, scope and eligibility of MSD’s UK grants programme. More information on the outcomes of applications will be shared shortly with healthcare and patient organisations.

A second application window will be open later in the year, from July to end of August 2024, for eligible healthcare and patient organisations to apply. Watch this space for future updates.

If you submit an application and did not receive an email confirming that we have received your application following 7 working days, or for any enquiries, please contact Grantscommittee@msd.com.

MMR & Routine Childhood Vaccination Grant Programme

Parents and carers in England are being urged to book their children in for their missed measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccination as part of a major new NHS drive to protect children from becoming seriously unwell, as measles cases continue to rise across the country.

From 1 October 2023 to 11th March 2024, there have been 730 laboratory confirmed measles cases reported in England [1]. A national incident has been announced in England because of the rapidly growing outbreaks centred around the West Midlands.[2]

In response, at MSD, we are pleased to offer a grant programme for eligible healthcare organisations with the goals of addressing health inequalities, improving access to childhood vaccinations and to drive innovation.

MSD welcomes healthcare organisations in England to apply for arm’s length financial funding provision, to help enable all eligible children to catch-up on their missed MMR and other relevant routine childhood vaccinations. This arm’s length financial support will be issued to healthcare organisations who apply and meet the acceptance criteria on a first come first served basis and is subject to completing a due diligence process.

GLOBAL ONCOLOGY

Cancer represents one of the world’s most urgent unmet medical needs and at MSD we remain committed to turning breakthrough biomedical innovations into novel therapies that help extend and improve the lives of people with cancer worldwide. We believe that policy researchers play a critical role – through their research work, educational activity and public outreach – in informing valuable policy dialogues based on evidence. Through this Independent Oncology Policy Grant Programme, MSD seeks to enable institutions to enhance their capacities in research, teaching and dissemination. Beyond supporting independent research, the Programme will provide an international forum for researchers to share ideas on emerging cancer policy issues and identify new areas for policy study.
